10-12 Book Club Report

Tuesday night's 10-12 Book Club was big fun. We discussed Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline, which is a combination of dystopia, 1980s nostalgia, gaming, and action/adventure story, and we all celebrated our geeked-out selves for getting all the '80s references. More than half of the 16 people in attendance (and two emailed votes) said they thought it was the best book we have ever read for book club. Even with three people who disliked it, the final rating was 8.5! If you want to know why, you can read my review of the book on the main library blog.

For next month we are reading Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, by Robin Sloan, an Alex award-winner. For January, we picked The Language of Flowers, by Vanessa Diffenbaugh.
