Readers' Theater is coming!

Next Wednesday night, June 12, is the first big event of the Teen Summer Reading Program: a Readers' Theater production of The Importance of Being Earnest, by Oscar Wilde, starring Burbank teens!

Readers' theater is just what it sounds like--the parts are not memorized but are read from scripts, but expressively, in a theatrical manner. We had enough teens who wanted to be in this very funny play that we were able to trade roles around and do two performances, so if you miss the first performance, Wednesday June 12 at 7:00 p.m. at our Buena Vista branch, you can catch the second performance on July 2 at the Central Library. OR, come to both! Why not? Different people in different roles--it will be fun to compare! There will be an intermission with CAKE, for all of you who are motivated by FOOD.

Here are some members of our cast, hard at work rehearsing: Susie, Tamara, Hoda, Mason, Alex, Molly, Allen and Alex, with Melissa and Anarda (directors/producers!). They and we hope to see you Wednesday night!
