For National Poetry Month!

Come to a screening of the celebrated documentary LOUDER THAN A BOMB--a film about passion, competition, teamwork, and trust. It's about speaking out, making noise, and finding your voice.

IT'S ABOUT POETRY.

Every year, more than 600 teenagers from Chicago-area schools gather for the world’s largest youth poetry slam, a competition known as "Louder Than A Bomb." Rather than emphasize individual poets and performances, the structure of Louder Than a Bomb demands that teens work collaboratively with their peers, presenting, critiquing, and rewriting their pieces. The documentary follows four teams as they prepare for and compete in the event, exploring the ways in which writing expresses their world.

Friday, April 5, at 4:00 p.m.
Buena Vista Branch Library
300 N. Buena Vista St.
818 238-5620

It's a teen program, but all are welcome. Extra credit may be received at your teachers' discretion.
